The wandering dervish

I have reached a point in my life where life seems to be stuck and moving in circles round and round.  So much like a Sufi dervish. I have someone in my life but he's so far away and I have no idea if we'd ever be together. For the first time in my life I am neither working nor studying. I am holding on to a thin thread of hope to get a call from a University I have applied at so that I may once again get on with life. In the meantime I thought I'd maintain a  blog and write all that I am going through so that it may help me get through this difficult and boring time.

I don't know how long I'd be writing this blog and if anyone would ever read it but as of now this is my only vent for all that is inside me.

Some of you may not know what a Dervish is so I am posting this information from Wikipedia about the same:

The word Dervish, especially in European languages, refers to members of Sufi Muslim ascetic religious fraternities, known for their extreme poverty and austerity, similar to mendicant friars. The term comes from the Persian word DarwÄsh, which usually refers to a mendicant ascetic. This latter word is also used to refer to an unflappable or ascetic temperament (as in the Urdu phrase darwaishana thabiyath for an ascetic temperament); that is, for an attitude that is indifferent to material possessions and the like. As Sufi practitioners, dervishes were known as a source of wisdom, medicine, poetry, enlightenment, and witticisms.

The Mevlevi Order or the Mevleviye are a Sufi order founded by the followers of the Persian thinker Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi in 1273 in Konya (in present-day Turkey). They are also known as the Whirling Dervishes due to their famous practice of whirling as a form of dhikr (remembrance of Allah). Dervish is a common term for an initiate of the Sufi Path.
