Marathon with Calvin
As some of you must have noticed I had my first comment from a fellow Chandigarhian a few day ago. Yesterday we exchanged e-mail and today for the 1st time we spoke over the phone. It was refreshing to meet someone who sounded innocent and honest. We spoke at length about random stuff and kept giggling like two teenage girls. It was refreshing to speak with someone with no expectation and no need to play 'games' and who laughs like a child. It was also weird to share a comfort level with a complete stranger.
To start with there were a few awkward silences but then we just couldn't shut up and before we knew it we were talking for about two and a half hours continuously. Finally we had to say goodnight because I was worried he'd be sleeping at work tomorrow and cursing me while gulping down cups of green tea (he is off coffee for health reasons).
I have always found it inexplainable how with certain people I strike the right chord in the very first meeting and with other the sparks never fly. I wouldn't name the person but because of our mutual admiration for comic strips I am going to name him Calvin after my favourite comic strip Calvin and Hobbes.
Though Calvin is older than me but he sounded so young and 'virgin' (I don't know if that the right word) that I was very careful about what we talked about because I didn't want to corrupt the poor guy. But by the end of the conversation we had talked about everything from sexual debacles, past relationship, cheating partners, food we love, travel ambitions and next year resolutions. Calvin hardly talked because I didn't shut up but I was able to learn a little about him and we decided to try to meet up sometime soon and see if after the marathon chat session we still had stuff left to talk about!!
