Update - All booked
Well as it works out my reservation for Wake Up didn't come through.

So I am back to square one looking for a place to stay at when I reach Sydney. I tried the Sydney Central YHA and also the Railway Square and no luck as yet. All booked. I guess it is all for a good reason and I am oping to find something in time before I leave on the 18th. I have a pre-departure session with the agent who helped me with the visa process and maybe he can help me with something. Somehow all this was really irritating me yesterday but today I find it all amusing. The joys of traveling!!!

Hi there - I work for YHA in Australia and saw your comment. Did you try an online booking at www.yha.com.au as there is another hostel in Glebe (2 kms from Sydney Central) and they may be able to help you. It's worth checking back as cancellations do occur. Good luck!
Thanks for the tip yha. I am looking at a alternative accommodation and in case that doesn't come through I'd try the website and check back for cancellation!
